James O’Brien

James is a Graduate in Professional Writing from the University of Canberra (two-year full-time course) and holds diplomas in Freelance Journalism and Public Relations from the Australian College of Journalism. He also has a certificate in Professional Editing and Proofreading and Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.

He has had freelance material published in leading newspapers and has been Editor/Manager of a community newspaper. He has been a part-time contributor and consulting editor to The Eaglehawk Times - a Bendigo community newspaper. He has edited manuals on aged care and copywriting and is also a published short story writer.

For over three years he wrote editorial/advertorial articles and acted as a part-time subeditor for the Bendigo Weekly.
Recently he has been invited to join the writing team at bendigo magazine (lower case = logo), a prestigious quarterly with a growing circulation.


Janet O’Brien
Janet has a Bachelor of Education degree from the University Of Canberra and has been a Secondary English Teacher in various parts of Australia. Over the years she has been involved in the design and delivery of curriculum for adolescents, adult education and corporate bodies.

She has spent many years as a training and development consultant in which she designed and delivered communication courses in client service. She has gained hands-on business experience through managing a retail health food shop and a therapy practice.

At present she provides structural editing expertise for clients of Cop-It-Write.
